I tore myself away from the in the end very good Expedition 33 over the past couple days to get some painting done for the first time in a bit:

Some orks I'm painting for Jye in trade:

And a battery of Spite Medusas for my epic Solar Auxilia:

"Spite" because I only really built them as medusas instead of basilisks because after building the 12 basilisks for the artillery company I had 4 extra tanks I could have built either way, and the LI writer for goonhammer (who seems inexplicably, for someone tasked with covering the game, to not like LI very much) said "eh, you'll never take these" so I'm going to even if they're sub-optimal.

I finished up a few more epic tanks, bringing me up to 2/3 of my leman russ company and within spitting distance of my full 3000 points of solar auxilia:


Playing a game against Kondo-san last month really got me back in an epic mood and I'm now fully planning a dark mechanicum force just because I can, even if I hardly play. Having bought a car last month means hobby purchases will be cut back for the next little bit but a guy can dream!

Shared them over on Discord as well, but here's the final 4 models of my 3000-point solar auxilia force for LI:

There's a few bits and pieces I might want for this force - since my primary opponent likes the concept of "a couple thunderhawks dropping 8 leviathan siege dreadnoughts in my backfield," some more anti-air would be sensible, and a tank-hunting armored company (some neutron cannon-toting valdors and a couple shadowswords) would be neat - but with 3000 points I don't need anything. So it's a question of getting a dark mechanicum spidermech force (which would synergize nicely with my traitor legio for titanicus), filling out the imperial fists force the starter box seeded me with, or being actually sensible and spending money on games people actually play.
