I voted for 1 day tourney and 1 day casual. But 2 days casual would be great too.

Especially if there is going to be a tourney later in the year anyway.

I think that this is a pretty key point. There is a tourney already. Having a more relaxed gaming event gives us something alternative to look forward to.

agreed. Keeping the tourney events and the "relaxed" events distinct is important to persuading folk to come to both. I'd keep the NagHammer event in goldenweek as a non-competitive shindig.

i voted for 1 day tournament 1 day non tournament for WH40K. Two days casual will be fine for me too. I just want to play WH40K with different people and kick some asses in the name of the Emperor :P .
Now seriously, my only request is that I would like to play only 40K because there are another events for WHF and alternative games (Warmachine, flames of war...).

Thanks and see you soon

I voted nearly along the lines of my buddy Yarrick; one day competitive 40K and one day of multi-systems free play. I just think you need something semi competitive to attract players from far away. After all, we all have casual gaming circles for free play, right? In that case, I think 2-person team tourney on the first day (3 battles, roughly 8 teams, 16 players, 1000 points + 1000 points = fun, strategic, competitive). Although it would mean I`d need to bring even more bags, I`d kind of like other games on the second day in case I wanted to play WarMachine or Hordes or something. I think splitting it this way is the best way to make everybody happy.

I think a two day non competative tournament would be the most fun. 1000 points is lots of fun... and small enough to get a a new army on ground.. and you could get through 5 games a day... if you really worked at it...

^This.

Golden week is for non competitive stuff. Obon is for tourney play. If you want a tourney, rock up for that. That's what it's there for.

non competitive what that means is no cash prize or model prizes ... trophies yes turn the prizes in to door prizes that way every one has a chance to get something just not the crazy competitive guys... and missions for every table interesting fun missions that are more about the table than just killing the other guys army.. not stiff ridged boring missions.. a campaign is fine but 2000 point games are not any fun at all... they take forever and real are just mind crushing... 500 - 1000 points and strict non subjective comp rules will make the whole even more fun.

heh, your 2000 point game last time didnt take long at all. :D
Personally I like bigger games and honestly, Comp rules are usually subjective. Ask MiJ to write up comp rules and you'll see an all out ban on a couple of FW's newer models.
There is not, and will not be a big prize at this event. Last time round, everyone got some hats (thanks to Badruck) and the highest scorer and lowest scorer got a small gift each.

If you say "This is a tournament" people will come with one mind set. If you say "This is NOT a tournament" people will come with another. If you say "This is a non-competitive tournament" then people who like tournaments will come to try to crush all opposition, whilst those people who just want to chill and play some games will bring fun lists to try. Tournament guys get a bunch of easy, boring games. Fun guys get a bunch of brutal, boring games.
