hey, thanks so much for the advice guys,

heres the link I found on dakka :
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/po ... 51253.page
to be honest I didn't really read it at all, I just looked at how awesome the pictures were.

Ok so the the best deal with airbrushing is with a double action airbrush and a half decent compressor hmm.
Theres so many to choose from, I don't know where to start! how's this one for a compressor?
http://www.airbrush.co.jp/english/store ... search=all

and this one for an air brush?

Do you guys have any suggestions on specific products? Or know of anywhere locally that I can buy from (like a store in nagoya) rather than online purchase? I might go and check out tokyuu hands.

Compressor = rubbish. I have something similar. It is only good for bowing up balloons. Not enough PSI or whatever. I have the same one M_I_J linked to.

Brush = looks OK.

what mike said.

dont skimp on the compressor - it is just as important as the brush, if not more so. Its probably worth spending a little extra now to avoid that "aaaaaagh - i shoulda bought a better one!" feeling two months down the line. Youre gonna be using the airbrush you buy now for a good few years, and if you choose wisely, you could be using it indefintely.

I can vouch for the compressor I linked to, as I have it. Badruck also has it, and Mike says he's got it too. We're all happy with it so...

As for the brush you linked - aye, seems fine. Id recommend getting a bigger cup size, though. I'll avoid the obvious innuendo :D

Yipes those things are expensive.
I was going to ask my wife for one for Xmas, but those prices are beyond our usual pressie budget, especially when you add in a compressor. Instead I'm going to ask for an MP3 player for my games room so I can listen to some tunes whilst I paint everything with a brush. :D

just took a look through the airbrush tut Jus linked to.

Damn! that guy is good. Dont expect results like that for the first...um...decade or so. Remember the first ever mini you painted. Itll be like that, only foggier...

still, something to aim for...

@Jus, btw: When airbrushing Wear A Mask. This is important. If youre doing it indoors build a wee 2ft square box to do it in . You need 2 walls and a top. You also need some kind of fan (a regular electric fan that you use in the summer is ok.). position this to blow the air OUT of the window, not in.

After a day or so, look at the back of the fan, and see what you couldve been breathing into your lungs. Generally, its not pretty. Unless youve been painting slaaneshi models, of course, in which case itll be a charming shade of pink... :P

Wow, well spotted Spevna. The thread has now been moved to a more appropriate area.
