Ahh, now I see, thanks for the good picture Konrad.
And those are some good looking hammers, thank you MiJ.
Before I buy anything over the internet (which I probably won't be able to do before February anyway) I am going to try to make the hammer myself. Currently thinking of how to pull it off, but I have got some really good ideas on how it should look.

What was wrong with the hammer I gave you? If you want it to look fancier, why not just add some green stuff to the existing piece?

There is nothing wrong with the hammer that you gave me, I want a unique look so just like you say, I am going to customise it. I just don't know how yet.

Re: Commander Conversion Project
I tried the Aron Alpha glue yesterday and it works really good.
Thanks for telling me about it, now I don't have to worry about models falling apart.
Plus I am also pinning now and that makes a really big difference too.
Cheers!

Dont forget to glue the pin.
We're all looking forward to seeing your completed model.

Re: Commander Conversion Project

Still work to do. Going to add cloak, iron halo, grenade launcher. But the general feeling will be something like this.
I want to add some spikes to the knuckle duster grip that I made for the hammer, like you can see on my beautifully paint edited picture in the middle. Don't know if it is best to go with green stuff or to add them from plastic bits though.
But everything is pinned down and superglued, I gotta say, the feeling of satisfaction is many times higher now that I have done it properly.
Re: Commander Conversion Project
I hate to tell you this now, but you should take a metal file and smooth off the thin mould lines on the top of the hammer.Seb wrote:But everything is pinned down and superglued, I gotta say, the feeling of satisfaction is many times higher now that I have done it properly.
Put the model down and hold the hammer steady whilst you do this. If you dont support the hammer you could snap it back off again. Then check round the model for any other visible lines and take them off too.
Doing this now may take some time (and it will add time to all the models you make), but it will make the model look ten times better when you paint it.

I think that your timing is perfect. If I had noticed after painting it would be so much more troublesome.Primarch wrote: I hate to tell you this now, but you should take a metal file and smooth off the thin mould lines on the top of the hammer.

I guess these are the kind of places where rookies fall, I had no idea that those lines can be seen after painting.
Thanks a lot!
*Edit - Mold lines now gone.
