Might be, GW is making use of Storm of Magics "pact" with the undead and deamons with a boost in sales by giving VC a new book. No, it doesn't really make sense rules wise that VC gets a revival, and wood elfers and brettonians will doubtless cry foul but it makes sense from a sales perspective. Most VC armies, while quite effective, usually only employ ghouls and graveguard, and the rest of the entire range can get buggered.Official Rumour Thread: New Vampire Counts Book
Hi,
As some of you have heard, there are more and more rumours that VC may be getting a new Army Book around January 2012 time. Hence (as suggested by Anubis) hereafter referred to as Vampuary
Whilst there was another thread created to discuss it, the discussion took an...ah....indepth twist. Therefore I have created this thread to be CN's official repository for the rumours.
Please post up and information or rumours you find (including updates at Warseer). Myself or mods (mods feel free) will update this first post as we hopefully receive more reliable info.

Current Info - Last Updated 11th October 2011
Suspected Release Date
January 2012
Rules
Possibility of return of Bloodlines in some fashion. Heavy emphasis in previous WD, plus production of new vampire riders (for Terrorgheist / ZD) fitting Blood Dragon / Strigoi rather than the previous Carstein theme suggests this. Not confirmed in any other way as of yet though.
Characters
Krell
Heinrich Kemmler – whilst there has been no substantial rumours on this, Krell has never been produced without Heinrich, so highly likely he will be making a comeback as well.
Female Vampire – Possibly Lahmian
Banshee – likely to be retained due to recent introduction in WD
Wraith - likely to be retained due to recent introduction in WD
Units
"Flesh Golems" – a monstrous infantry option, said to be unlike any other monstrous infantry in Warhammer. Looks to be a cross between a Ghoul and Zombies all stitched up, hunched over. Also possibility that they will be mounted / ridden / pulled by Zombies or Spirit Hosts.
New plastic coach model (Dread Coach?). Is said to be a dual kit model, making a coach and something else which has not yet been defined. Has been said it is not a siege engine though. Unconfirmed whether the coach variant is the Black Coach, or a whole new coach type unit. Either way, the Black Coach is rumoured to be retained, if the new kit is not this unit it may just keep its existing unit.
New plastic cavalry models. Said to be dual kit, however no information as to what type of units for yet. Highly likely one variant may be existing Black Knights, and it is rumoured there is a new cavalry unit that the other variant is for.
There are said to be 5 new units in total, there are possibly 3 or 4 above (coach kit may be two new unit types), so possibly another 1 or two units we have not yet heard about.
Terrorgheist - likely to be retained due to recent introduction in WD
List of cool but pathetic models from VC that GW can't make money off of:
Skeletons - One of my favorite GW kits, but for 8 points a model for a stat line inferior to a goblin .... not worth the the power dice to raise - even beyond starting unit size.
Zombies - perhaps the worst sculpt they ever did. Can only rank up if you don't glue there arms on. Anybody gonna tell you Mantic got the better zombie... and by jove so much cheaper too.
dire wolves, fellbats, bat swarms - LOL don't count toward minimum core requirements, therefore いらない.
corpse cart - shame because its a very novel miniature. Great for unit filler (what I use mine for) other than that, beyond useless.
Vargulf - terrorgheist is infnitely better for a 20-30 point increase in cost... or is it 50, can't remember.
Black coach - old and metal - yuck.
Black knights - old and metal - might as well spend the points on more grave guard.
