We'll see! I'm kind of surprised to find just how few death guard you can get for 25 power - 7 plague marines, a plague caster, and a blight drone is 24, and that's before the rumored points increases.Jye Nicolson wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 9:21 amThey are looking amazing and can't wait to see them across the table in Crusade.
Though given their War of the Spider buffs I think I'm about to reap some serious karma from playing codex marines![]()

Re: What did you do today.
@Dave, Death Guard units are a bit pricey since due to special rule tax and the power level cost assumes you're taking a decent amount of upgrades too. Not sure how power levels are going to change in 9th but it might be rough to fit it more than an HQ and troop squad for elite armies.
I managed to get some more Tau aircraft built and I got to admit, I'm don't enjoy working on the tiny bits but models look so good that its totally worth it. Tried a different load out on the newer Tiger Sharks but its hard to stray away from just putting Railguns on everything. Seeing all the pictures of painted Barracuda and Tiger Sharks has me pretty excited to paint them and I've almost decided on a paint scheme too.

I'm looking at a starting list of 22 or so rather than 25, just because it's so awkward at such a low PL total. That's fine though, I don't need to start optimal as long as I can progress towards something a bit more comfy. The Other Dave wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 10:22 amWe'll see! As for today, I continued to fail at getting Leadbelcher (not sure Bic Camera has ever restocked their Citadel paints, given all the staples are gone), so things advanced but not much could be finished. I did get a couple of armored containers done to test interior colours:

Not actually sure which works better.
@Karantu those Tau look very cool, can't wait to see them painted.

Re: What did you do today.

This one will at least have the advantage of being distinctive, so I can say it's Ragnar's.
Re: What did you do today.
@ Karantu: Nice ...tau ...aeroships. My general distaste of Tau makes it hard for me to say, but a nice model is a nice model. Hey and it was probably infinitely easier to build that Manta than the forgeworld full sized one.
@ Jye: You are on a roll. I like the choice of red to contrast with the Space wolf grey-blue.
I have some progress to report.
A spare IG weapons team I built in May. (But too lazy to photograph and upload.)

Celebrating the end of the weekend with a taste of Oregon (The beer, not the chips.)
Celebrating another weekend with another bit of Oregon (my fav)
And some infiltrators. Not entirely happy with them, but I’ve been painting often when I’m exhausted at night. I going to call it good after I can put a decal on the alpha.
Sorry for the picture quality, but I don’t have much time to set up better conditions.

Nice work all round!
I've been slacking off from painting this week. It's too hot and humid.

Looking good, @job. Will you be bringing an AdMech crusade back home to Nagoya from time to time?
For today, I worked on the rest of my containers, except the one I forgot to prime:

That brings me up to 13 of the things painted, which should allow some LOS blocking just by stacking them up.
(The colours match the various divisions of my Sisters)

@Jye More terrain is always good. Can't wait to try out games with 9th terrain rules.
I got some work in on my Tau aircraft. Its not entirely done but its close. I tried something new(for me) with the engine glow and I like how it turned out. Also its tricky taking pictures of it since my the photo ends up being a closer up shot of it than what I'm used to while painting it.

Re: What did you do today.
Finished up my plaguecaster this morning - his name, apparently, is Pustus.

Jye had a good point, when I mentioned this on buying the model, that I kind of knew what I was getting into vis a vis Nurgle, but this model in particular really has more... maggots than I'm necessarily looking for in a wargaming model.

It looks so good though. We'll be in trouble if Crusade gives bonuses for best painted.
@Karantu the engine glow looks great, you'll have to twist more arms to get people playing AI and properly show off those Tau
As for me, got these finished today:

Which brings us up to this for the month:

Which means I can field this tomorrow:
